If you or someone in your family missed a Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) payment earlier this year, here’s some welcome news. The BISP has now resolved the technical issues that delayed payments for thousands of families. Starting in July 2025, those who didn’t receive their earlier installment can now claim Rs. 13,500.
The government has worked hard to fix the problems, and payments are being released across the country. Here’s everything you need to know to check your eligibility and get your missed amount.
Why Did Payments Get Delayed?
Earlier in 2025, many low-income families who were eligible for BISP didn’t receive their scheduled payments. Several technical and system issues caused this disruption:
-
System Glitches: The 8171 portal faced heavy traffic and internal errors, which affected user access and eligibility checks.
-
Biometric Failures: Many women were unable to verify their identity due to fingerprint mismatches at payment centers or ATMs.
-
CNIC Errors: Some ID cards had expired or didn’t match the records in the system, leading to automatic blocks.
Because of these problems, thousands of eligible women missed out on their payments. But the wait is over.
What’s New in July 2025?
To fix these issues, BISP made several important improvements this July:
-
Faster Verification: Delayed cases are now being reviewed more quickly.
-
Improved Portal: The online system is running smoothly with fewer errors.
-
Updated Fingerprint Machines: Biometric devices have been adjusted for better accuracy.
-
Pending Payments Released: Missed payments for eligible users are now being processed and disbursed.
If your application was marked as eligible but you didn’t receive the money, there’s a good chance it’s now ready to be collected.
